Marshall Earl Edlin age 88 of Versailles, Illinois passed away at 1:50 p.m. Monday, June 18, 2007 at the Heritage Manor Nursing Home in Mt. Sterling.

Born March 8, 1919 in Bluff City, Illinois the son of Orville and Maizie Dutton Edlin, Earl married Frances Bradbury on May 21, 1938 in Palmyra, Missouri; she survives.

Earl had worked for Illinois Valley Paving Company in Bluffs, Illinois for several years and was a lifetime fisherman that dearly loved the river

Earl was a lifelong member of the La Grange Chapel. He taught fishnet making at the Meredosia Historical Society.

Earl's greatest joy was spending time with his family, duck hunting in the lake, working in his garden and playing his harmonica for anyone that passed by.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 daughter Janet Thomas and 1 brother Harold Edlin.

Services scheduled at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, June 21, 2007 at the Hendricker Funeral Home, Mt. Sterling; Rev. Matt Haberman officiating.

Burial in Cooperstown Cemetery in Brown County.

Friends may call any time after 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday with the family meeting friends from 6:00 until 8:00 Wednesday evening at the funeral home. Friends may also call any time after 8:00 a.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.
