She was born June 21, 1922 in Brown County, Illinois the daughter of Earl and Mary J. Bauch Bowen. She married James Harlan Hecox on June 5, 1946 at the Timewell Baptist Church
in Timewell, Illinois; he survives.
Mrs. Hecox was a homemaker and assisted her husband with the operation of the family farm. Earlier in life she worked for Moorman Manufacturing in Quincy, Illinois.
Mrs. Hecox attended Oakland Grade School and Timewell High School and graduated from Mt. Sterling High School. She also attended Gem City Business College in Quincy, Illinois.
Mrs. Hecox was a devoted member of the Timewell Baptist Church and always loved caring for her dogs and cats, but her greatest joy was spending time with her family.
Survivors include 3 children:
Darrell Rodney Hecox, wife Regina of Fishhook, Illinois
Denny Randall Hecox of Timewell, Illinois
Julia Jan Bennett of Loraine, Montana
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Friends may call any time after 4:00 on Thursday with the family meeting friends from 6:00 until 8:00 Thursday evening at the funeral home. Friends may also call from 8:00 a.m. until time of services on Friday.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, September 29, 2006 in the Hendricker Funeral Home in Mt. Sterling;
