Born in Brooklyn, Susquehanna Co., PA on Saturday, November 8, 1913, she was the daughter of the late Ross and Genevieve (Mackey) Tewksbury.
She was the widow of Darius K. Shollenberger who preceded her in death on August 10, 1984.
Brenda was a graduate of Brooklyn High School at Brooklyn, PA and a graduate of Mansfield University. She was retired from the Montgomery school district where she was employed as a third grade teacher.
She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church at Montgomery and a member of the Lycoming County Retired Teacher's Association, the Pennsylvania Association of School Retirees and the National Association of Retired Federal Employees. She enjoyed reading and sewing.
She is survived by 1 daughter and son-in-law, Nancy M. and Carl Richart, with whom she resided, and 1 son, John "Ken" Shollenberger of Montgomery, PA. Also surviving are 9 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by 1 sister, Marie Tewksbury and 1 brother, Andrew Tewksbury.
Graveside funeral services will be conducted in the St. John Lutheran "Brick" Cemetery, Clinton Twp., Lycoming Co, PA at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, May 13, 2002 with Reverend Gunther Bernhardt, her pastor, officiating. The family will provide the flowers. If desired memorial contributions may be made to the SUN Home Health Hospice, 61 Duke Street, Northumberland, PA 17857.
