Vira Jean Waltman, 91, former Brush resident, passed away Saturday, April 18, 2020, at the Bonell Good Samaritan Center in Greeley. She was born June 30, 1928, in Alief, TX to Rufus Lonnie & Frances Lucille Lowe. Vira was affectionately referred to as “Neany” by many family members.

Vira was a music teacher. An accomplished pianist, Vira loved to play the piano. She also enjoyed watching birds. Her favorite time was spent with her family. She was a member of the All Saints Lutheran Church where she served as a church organist. She also played the organ and piano at previous congregations while living in Louisiana and Texas.

Survivors include her 2 sons, John of Brush and Darrell of Greenback, TN; 1 sister, Mabel Lucille Arrington of Frisco, TX; 11 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her brother, John Byron Lowe and her parents.

A private family graveside will be held at the Brush Memorial Cemetery. A public memorial service will be held at a later date.
