Gary Sylvester Harrison, 71, passed away on Saturday, April 18, 2020, in Dallas, Texas. Burial will be at St. Joseph's Cemetery.

Gary was born on March 30, 1949, in Ennis, Texas, to the late Clark Sylvester and Mary Gertrude (Whitfield) Harrison. He graduated from St. John’s High School in 1967. On February 14, 1969, he married Patricia Ann Kriska in Ennis, Texas, at St. John’s Catholic Church.

Gary served in the U.S. Navy for six years from 1969 to 1976. He worked for Baxter International, Inc. for 20 years after his discharge from the Navy, then the U.S. Postal Service for 18 years. He retired after working for the U.S. Postal Service. Gary was an avid racing fan, loved classic cars, fishing, and football.

He was preceded in death by A.D. “Slick” Langley.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Patricia, of Garland; daughter, Tina Shackelford and her husband, David, of Ennis; granddaughter, Isabella Shackelford; brothers, Greg Harrison and his wife, Peggy, of Ennis, Dwayne Harrison and his wife, Susan, of Grand Prairie; several nieces, nephews, and extended family.
