Vera A Johnson
March 31, 1919 ~ April 20, 2020 (age 101)

Obituary
Vera Johnson passed away peacefully on April 20, 2020, after a long, eventful life. She was able to celebrate her 101st birthday with the residents at her long-term health care center in Marion, Iowa before entering her next phase of life.

Vera was a hair stylist and had her own salon which she called Suburban Beauty Salon. When she moved to Fairfield, she had the salon in her home and people visited her frequently for their perms and hair settings. She would even visit nursing homes and other long-term facilities to do hair for those who were unable to come to her.

She was a devout Baptist and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Fairfield before moving to Marion. Her faith in the Lord brought her through some very challenging times throughout her life, and carried her through her 101 years of life.

One of her favorite past times was playing Bridge with friends and loved going to her great- grand children’s sporting events in Marion.

Vera is preceded in life by her sons Robert and Ronald Johnson. She is survived by her daughter-in-law Sandy Johnson, grandchildren Brad Johnson and Tiffany Kinzenbaw, and great-grandchildren Caden and Quinn Kinzenbaw.

Her family asks that in lieu of flowers donations be made to the American Cancer Society. There will be a graveside service at Evergreen Cemetery at a later date.
