Robert was born in Acushnet, the son of the late Edward and Evelyn (Mayer) McGrath. Mr. McGrath served his country during WWII with the United States Navy aboard the USS Wichita. Robert worked for Titleist and then for Coyne Laundry for thirty years. Mr. McGrath was a communicant of Saint Mary’s Church in Fairhaven. He enjoyed traveling and dining out with his wife and spending time with his family.
Survivors are three daughters: Nancy Jorge and her husband Charles of Fairhaven; Sally Brown and her husband David of Port Charlotte, FL; Kathleen Scanlon and her husband Martin of North Attleboro; six grandchildren: David Jorge, Karen Brightman, Allison Hattaway, Ashley Blevins, Daniel and Colleen Scanlon; seven great grandchildren: Quinn and Elle Brightman, Madelyn Jorge, Trey and Evan Hattaway, Weston and Ezekiel Blevins. He was the brother of the late Thomas McGrath.
His Funeral Service will be live streaming at 11am, April 23, 2020, from the Fairhaven Funeral Home. Please go to his Tribute Page at www.hathawayfunerals.com and to also, light a candle, sign guest book and view video. A Private burial ,Military Honors will be held in Riverside Cemetery, Fairhaven.
