Mr. Dennis Wayne Scott, 60, of Lenoir passed away on Sunday, April 19, 2020 while at Caldwell UNC Healthcare in Lenoir.
Mr. Scott was born on July 13, 1959 in Caldwell County to Ollie Scott Wishon.
He was preceded in death by his beloved Aunt and Uncle; Fred and Kate Greer who raised him and treated him as if he was their own child and whom he loved with all his heart.
Mr. Scott was a loving and dedicated family man. The time that he was blessed to spend with his wife, children and grandchildren were the most cherished to him. He was a man who never met a stranger, who always had a positive outlook and could brighten your day just by being present. Wayne drove a truck for Caldwell Freight for over 20 years, until they closed, then he drove for Bowman Transportation He was proud to have served in the North Carolina National Guard. Wayne was a bright spot in everyone’s day and he will be greatly missed by all who were blessed to know him.
In addition to his mother, those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Pam Holman Scott of the home, son; Eric Scott and wife Lauren of Huntersville, daughter Kelly Stillwell and husband Alex of Lenoir, grandchildren; Allie Stillwell, Norah Scott, Julia Scott, Hattie Scott, Emily Scott, brothers; Glenn and Tommy Greer both of Lenoir and sisters; Crystal Marley of Lenoir and Rita Philyaw of Claremont.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, April 24, 2020 at 2:00 pm at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Lenoir with Rev. Keith Gilliam officiating. All other services will be held privately.
Serving as pallbearers will be Tommy Greer, Greg Greer, Glenn Greer and Diamond Brown.
