He leaves behind his wife Peggy Gill Oakes, and three children, Elizabeth ,David and Christopher.
He attended the University of Dayton, and worked for many years as Membership Chairman at Wright Patterson AFB Oficers' Club. His family moved to Fairborn in 1947 from New Jersey and they returned each year to SeaGirt,NJ to enjoy the beach,ocean and family..That tradition was continued when he married.
