Dorothy Jane Bass, affectionately known as "Dot", was born October 6, 1935 in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. At age 84, she went to be with the Lord on Friday, April 17, 2020 in Columbus, Ohio.

Dorothy was a God fearing woman who loved her family. She married the love of her life, Kenneth W. Bass, October 5, 1958 celebrating 62 years of marriage. The Matriarch of the Family, Dorothy led by example, she was a dedicated wife, loving mother, and affectionate grandmother. Dorothy's personal accomplishments were she became a "RN" Registered Nurse, while working full-time and raising her family.

She loved traveling, gardening (beautiful flowers), walking, cooking and entertaining family and friends.

Dorothy accepted Christ at a young age. For many years, she was a dedicated, active member of Friendship Baptist and later Agape Outreach Ministries.

Preceded in death by brothers Robert T. Brown, George R. Taylor, Emmanuel Taylor, Thomas Howard Jr; and sisters Frances Jean Jones, and Julia Hughes.

Dorothy leaves to cherish her memories her loving husband, children, sister, nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and friends. She is survived by husband Kenneth W. Bass, sons Kenneth (Marilyn) Bass Jr, Gary (Norma) Bass, Eric (Cyndy) Bass, daughters Sharon (Anthony) Wilson and Glennis Butcher, sister Mildred Neal, grandchildren: Daryl Bryant, Kathy Jones, Earl Williams, Darren (Margie) Carrington, Meckiela Laney, Eric Bass Jr, Frank (Katie) Bass, and Angel Bass.
