Ray was born June 19, 1942, in Cullman, AL, the eldest of nine children. He was a very hard worker and worked most of his life in commercial construction. Before his decline, he loved working in his garden each summer, getting everything ready for the Martin birds to return, working on multiple projects around his home, watching westerns, and most of all, he loved spending time with his family. He will always be remembered for his kind, giving heart, his toothpick from the side of his mouth, and his heavy foot. He will be truly missed by his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by father, Bonnie Lee Hendrix; mother, Betty Mae Hendrix; brother, Mark Dewayne Hendrix; and sister, Annette Reese.
Visitation will be Friday, April 24, 2020, from 9:30am to 11:00am at New Hope Funeral Home, followed by a graveside service at Dripping Springs Cemetery at 1pm in Vinemont, AL.
