Sandra Sue (Crabb) Leach, a lifelong resident of Warren County, passed away on Monday, August 27th, 2018 while surrounded by her family and friends.

Sandra was born on September 18th, 1944 in her family home located in Milo, IA. Five minutes earlier, her twin brother, Sam, was born. Sandra was born to Ken and Lucille (Kennedy) Crabb. She was the fourth of five children and was the only girl. Sandra attended all of her schooling in Milo, IA and is a proud graduate of Southeast Warren. While in school there, she played on the softball team and won two state titles. She made many lifelong friends in these teammates she got the pleasure of playing with.

In 1965, she met the love of her life and best friend, Mel Leach. They were married for 53 years and raised four children (Julie, Jerry, Dan, and Daron) together. They spent many vacations as a family in Colorado visiting other family members. There were many great memories made there. Sandra retired from her professional career as postmaster of Ackworth, IA. After retirement, she spent quality time with her husband taking vacations and joyriding in their corvette. Sandra enjoyed reading, putting together puzzles, and watching her children and grandchildren grow. Sandra had a love for sports that most women did not. She spent a good part of her life watching her grandson and granddaughter play softball, baseball, basketball, football, wrestling, and volleyball. She enjoyed watching on TV, or better yet in person, Chicago Cubs baseball, Denver Broncos football, NASCAR, and any sport played by Iowa State or the University of Iowa.

Sandra is survived by her husband, Mel, and four children, Julie (Dean) Anderson, Jerry Leach (Lisa Theisen), Dan Leach and Daron Leach. She is also survived by her two brothers, Mike (Terri) Crabb and Sam (Mary) Crabb, as well as her sister-in-laws, Jan Crabb and Jeanne Crabb. Sandra will be fondly remembered by her grandson, Adam (Amelia) Leach, granddaughter, Morgan (Emmett) Konrad, and great grandson, Killian Leach. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ken and Lucille Crabb, and brothers, Jim and Jerry Crabb. Also, Sandra wanted to acknowledge a special thanks to Karen Wadle, Kathy Roush, Virginia Agan for being such good friends.
