Chief Warrant Officer 5, Roland Bryant USA (ret), 82, of Sherwood, died April 18, 2020. He was born April 25, 1937 in Cabot, Arkansas to James T. and Thayse (Wilson) Bryant.
He was a member of Levy United Methodist Church and the Disciples Sunday School Class, which he taught also.
He served in the Arkansas Army National Guard from October 28, 1952 until April 25, 1997 where he worked as an auditor for some 30 years. Mr. Bryant was awarded many decorations during his career, including the Army Commendation Medal, Meritorious Service Medal and Legion of Merit.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Rosemary Bryant; daughter, Paula Richardson and husband, Ricky; daughter, Diane Staples; and two beloved granddaughters, Rachel and Rumer Richardson. He was a great source of love, joy and laughter to his family and will be dearly missed. Roland loved to golf and he loved being around and talking to his friends on the golf course and his breakfast "meetings" at McDonald's.
He is preceded in death by his parents, James and Thayse Bryant; brother, J.W. Bryant; sister, Lorene Lowe; and his son, M. Roland Bryant.
In light of current public health concerns, a private internment will be at Guenther-Presley Cemetery.
A memorial service at Levy United Methodist Church will be held at a later date.
