Patsy Dee Chesser Davenport Askew, age 82, a McMinnville, TN resident and Lockhart, TX native was born October 19, 1937 and passed away at her daughter's residence following an extended illness.

She was a retired secretary, and a member of First Baptist Church, and the daughter of the late Jim Earl and Frances Irene Brown Chesser. She was also preceded in death by husbands, Michael Lee Davenport and William "Bill" Askew, Jr.; daughter, Jannie Ruth Davenport; brothers, James Harold Chesser and Joe B. Chesser; and sister, Mary Lou Downes.

Mrs. Askew is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Pamela and Dennis Curtis of Chapmansboro, TN; grandson, Davis L. and Courtney Cantrell of McMinnville; great-grandson, Journey Cantrell of McMinnville; sister-in-law, Donna Davenport Evans of McMinnville; and brother, Donald Earl Chesser of Lockhart, TX; several nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive.

A private graveside and interment will be held for family only. No visitation will be held at High's.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 200 Great Circle Road, Suite 134, Nashville, TN 37228.
