Edward J. Hayes, age 60, of Janesville, WI passed away Thursday, April 16, 2020 in his home. Ed was born on May 17, 1959 in Janesville, WI. The son of Joseph and Harriet Fehrman Hayes. In the summer of 1969, he entered his foster family of Gene and LaVon Wenham and later Catherine Wenham, a relationship that lasted the rest of his life. Ed's first wife, Mary Jo (Babcock) Hookstead, blessed him with two children, Emery (Nicole) Hayes of Milton, WI, and Heather (Jarrell) Johnson of Des Moines, IA. He later married LeAnn (Russell) Bumgartner and they had two children: Matthew Hayes and Hannah Hayes, both of Janesville, WI. Ed loved Corvette autos and Harley Davidson motorcycles. He owned several of each over the years. Fishing and camping with his family was a joy. Rath Manufacturing in Janesville, WI employed Ed as a machinist, making stainless steel pipe for many years. Ed is survived by his 4 children, 7 grandchildren, and his foster father, Gene Wenham of Milton, WI. His three sisters: Beverly (Arthur) Cartwright Potter of Mazomanie, WI, Gail Hayes of Cadot, WI, and Nancy (Max) Turnmire of Stockbridge, WI; and best friend Ricky Sanwick of Janesville, WI. He was preceded in death by his biological parents, foster mothers: LaVon and Catherine, and grandson: Julian Patterson. Final Resting Place Milton Lawns Memorial Park Janesville, WI.
