A daughter of the Mdewakanton Dakota Chief Little Crow II, she became the wife of a Wahpeton man by whom she was the mother of the Yankton chief Waŋmdiokičize (better known as War Eagle). An elder sister of hers had a Sisseton husband, by whom she was the mother of Helen Elizabeth, the wife of fur trader Robert Dickson. It was because of his ties of kinship to the Dicksons, Aungies, and Arconges that War Eagle came to settle first near Fort Vermillion and later at Sioux City.
