Elizabeth Monk, age 92, passed away on Sunday, April 19, 2020 in Lubbock, Texas. Graveside service will be on Wednesday, April 22, 2020 at Resthaven Cemetery in Quitaque. Visitation will be from 5:30 P.M. - 8:00 P.M., Tuesday, April 21, 2020 at the Moore-Rose Funeral Home in Floydada. Arrangements are under the personal care of Moore-Rose Funeral Home in Quitaque.

She was born on January 2nd, 1928 in Quitaque, Texas to Clarence and Emma Lee Richmond. On November 1st, 1947 she married LB Monk. Elizabeth was a devout Christian wife, mother, homemaker, and a Sunday school teacher. Her husband was a farmer therefore she naturally became a farmhand and a cook. Elizabeth’s hot homemade rolls and cinnamon rolls were enjoyed for miles around. She was a member of the quilting club, “The Do-gooders”, in Flomot, Texas, and a member of the First Baptist Church there as well. She was a regular visitor of the Quitaque and Silverton public libraries. She enjoyed serving Meals on Wheels in the Quitaque area. She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, LB Monk. She is survived by her three sons, Jimmy Monk of Midland, Texas, Jerry Monk of Albuquerque, New Mexico, and Johnny Monk of Ralls, Texas, nine grandchildren, and eighteen great-grandchildren. The honorary pall bearers are her grandchildren: Chad Monk, Conner Monk, Craig Monk, Leslie Pierson, Cody Monk, Kelsey Monk, Rachel Knighton, Benjamin Monk, and Brian Monk. Memorials may be sent to Quitaque Library, Children’s Home of your choice, or Church of your choice.
