NEW CUMBERLAND, W. Va. — After a battle with a very aggressive cancer, Donald Ray Reese passed away on April 16, 2020 while at home in Hospice Care at the age of 70. He leaves behind his loving wife of 52 years, Lynda Reese, a daughter Lisa (Steve) Staley, and a son, Jeff (Val) Reese. He has five grandchildren, Zack (Morgan) Staley, Chance Staley, Preston Reese, Leighton Reese and Adriana Reese. He has one great-grandchild, Emmett. He is also survived by his sister, Bonnie (Don) Barnhart, three brothers, Ed (Pat) Reese, Kenny Reese, and Dink (Ina) Reese. He has two brothers-in-law, Bill (Diane) Wells and Doug Wells. He also has many nephews, nieces and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Alfies Reese, his twin brother, Ronald, and brothers, Spank Reese and Butch Reese.
Everyone who had the privilege of knowing Unk Reese knew that he was an avid golfer that enjoyed playing golf with his family and friends. He also loved coaching young athletes. He was a Little League Baseball and Jr. Bear Football Coach for many years. He was a Christian in faith and was a member of the Christian Church in Chester, W.Va. His Legacy will live on in the hearts and minds of everyone who knew him. A small service will be held for the immediate family. There will be a memorial service for everyone that would like to pay their respect and celebrate the life of Donald “Unk” Reese at a later date. The Nixon Funeral Home, Newell, W.Va. handled arrangements
