Carla Diane Thompson, 56, of Kinglsey, Iowa, entered into eternal rest following a brief battle with cancer on Monday, May 2, 2016 in Des Moines, Iowa. Memorial Service will be held at 4:00 pm, Monday, May 9, 2016 at Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City.

Carla was born on November 25, 1959 in Missouri. She was raised in Council Bluffs, IA but spent most of her life in Sioux City, IA, where she enjoyed traveling, cooking, animals, and laughter. Carla enjoyed helping others and accomplished doing so by working at Girls Inc., Jackson Recovery and Lutheran Social Services. She was full of life and loved adventure.

Survivors include her three children; Malayia Hill of Missoula, MT, Chaye Thompson of Des Moines, IA and Cherry Thompson of Sioux City, IA. She had six grandchildren; Layla Hill, Quwana White, Sundance Hill, Aaliyah Fencroy, Jaxon Thompson, and Avalon Keairns. She had one great grandchild Gabriel Northcutt and her brother David Thompson who resides in Council Bluffs.

She was preceded in death by her life partner, Stan Ballard.
