Catherine Louise Sanders, 73, of Oakland, passed away on April 17, 2020 at her home. She was born on April 7, 1947, to the late Juanita and Walter Skeweris in Kempton, MD. She graduated from Southern Garrett High School where she met and later married her best friend, Donald Sanders. Catherine worked for Naylor’s Hardware, TDEC and in various programs at the Garrett County Health Department where she retired. Catherine was known to many family members and friends as “Bootie”. She enjoyed family gatherings, making crafts/jewelry, reading and finding new recipes. She most especially enjoyed shopping trips with the girls and outings with her special aunt, Naomi Flanagan. Catherine had a love for God and her warm spirit and gentle nature were known by all who knew her. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Roger Skeweris. She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Donald Sanders; her three children, Timothy Sanders and wife Kimberly of Oakland, Brent Sanders and wife Autumn of Oakland, Misty SanJulian and husband Michael of Oakland; grandchildren, Tyler Sanders of Morgantown, WV, Kody Sanders and wife Heather of Accident, Cole Sanders and wife Nicole of Morgantown, WV, Morgan Cussins and husband Randy of Oakland, Kameron Sanders, Maria SanJulian, Andrew SanJulian each of Oakland; three great grandchildren, Brody Welch, Peyton Sanders and Karson Sanders; three brothers, Rich Skeweris and wife Vicki, Rob Skeweris, and Randall Skeweris and wife Missie, all of Oakland; and many nieces and nephews. In accordance with Catherine’s wishes, she will be cremated and a memorial service will be held at a later date.
