Mr. Leon Walton was born on August 6, 1938 to the late Earnest and Annie M. Walton in Hugo, Oklahoma.

Leon graduated from Booker T. Washington High School and attended Langston University. He worked several different jobs before being employed at Carrier Air Conditioning in Tyler. Leon retired after 27 years.

Leon's current membership was at God's Will Missionary Baptist Church. He enjoyed helping youth and telling them about the goodness of God. Leon was a dedicated member on the deacon board, bus ministry, male chorus, combined choir, culinary committee, and media ministry. Leon was a proud and faithful member of the Jubilee Aires. They travelled all over East Texas and where ever they were invited. His favorite song was "I'm Waiting On Jesus". He was also a volunteer mentor at Orr Elementary School.

Leon's first marriage was to Betty Walton for 32 years. They were blessed with two daughters; LaTriece and ShaRonda.

Leon united in marriage to Lillie "Lou" Walker in 1993.

He was preceded in death by both parents; brothers: Wilbert, Jimmy L., Rogers, Earnest, Herbert and one sister Willie Bell Gill.

Mr. Walton is survived by wife Lillie; children: Carolyn(Donald) Gaines, Darrell, Latriece, and Sharonda; one foster son, Terry; MarQuita (Mike) Hackett, Latunia Wilson, Charles Ross, Jr., and DeMarcus Ross; nine grandchildren and nine great grandchildren; two brothers, Henry (Vergie) and Milton; and a host of other relatives.
