Born September 3, 1935 in Nicholas County to the late Luther "Peck" & Mary Ensor Finch, she attended the Moorfield School. Ruth worked at Bluegrass Industries for a time, then went to work at Crockett & Gaunce Grocery ( later Crockett 's Foodtown and Shopwise) and stayed there until her retirement. She liked the many people who came through the store and so many of the young kids who worked part time. Ruth loved to mow her yard and work in her flower beds. She also enjoyed going to yard sales. She was very outgoing and never met a stranger, but the most important thing is, she was a good mother who loved her kids and will be greatly missed.
Additional survivors are a son, David W. "Pedie" (Brenda) Hardin II, of Carlisle; a daughter Letha (Roger) Orme, of Maysville; 3 step-daughters: Shirley (Steve) Knue, of Leitchfield, Sue Carol Marshall, of Lexington and Mary Beth (Kent) Hopkins, of Carlisle; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; and her special 4-legged fried, Rudy.
Also preceding her in death were 2 brothers, Earl and Malcolm Finch.
In accordance with Ruth 's wishes, there will be no service. Following cremation, interment will be in the Carlisle Cemetery.
