He was born in Scottsbluff, Nebraska on August 2, 1963 to Steve and Sharon (Miller) Nerud. He grew up in Minatare Nebraska, graduating from Melbeta High School. He attended College at the University of Nebraska studying psychology. He lived in Lincoln, Nebraska before moving to Clear Lake, SD, in 2008 to be near his family who loved him dearly.
He loved spending his time doing activities with his family and friends which included camping, fishing, playing games, and watching movies. He loved the University of Nebraska Football team. He truly appreciated food and when he no longer could enjoyed eating, he made sure no one in his presence ever went hungry. His true passion was painting, reading, and editing photos. He was known as a prankster, he loved playing practical jokes on his care givers. Although Stacey didn’t have any children or grandchildren of his own his nieces and nephews along with their children were the heartbeat of his life. He loved giving the kids rides on his chair.
Stacey is survived by his siblings: Dave (Kim) Nerud, Craig (Roni) Nerud, and Pam (Kurt) Feil; nieces and nephews: Heather, Cory, Presley and Grayson Quail; Holly, Josh and Tristin Vandyke; DJ and David Nerud; Stephanie, Josh, Karissa, Manny and Khristian Catlin; Justin, Macy, and Elizabeth Fiel; and Kyle Riehle; and his father, Steve Nerud.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Sharon (Toots) Nerud of Bayard and grandparents: Dick and Maxine Nerud and George and Elizbeth Miller.
