Karen Lee Thomson, age 63 of Riverside, Ohio passed away Sunday, October 28, 2018 at James Cancer Hospital and Solove Research Institute. Karen was born December 19, 1954 in Dayton, Ohio. She was the daughter of James and Bonita (Coey) Thomson.

Karen was a lover of the outdoors and the animals within. She was a volunteer at Wild Again Rescue Center in Spring Valley. She was employed as a receptionist at the Alpha Veterinary Clinic in Beavercreek. Karen also had a "green-thumb" and could grow anything in her many gardens. Above all, Karen loved spending time with her son Matt and all of her dear family and friends.

Along with her loving son, Matthew "Matt" Thomson Karen is survived by 2 brothers, Mike (Lisa) Thomson of Morganton, North Carolina and Bob (JoAnne) Thomson of Beavercreek; 2 nieces, Brooke (Jason) Mosser and Tori (Zach) Mathis; 2 nephews, Bob (Jillian) Thomson Jr. and Gabriel Thomson; Karen was proceeded in death by her parents and baby sister, Donna Sue Thomson.

A visitation for Karen will be held on Thursday, November 1, 2018 from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm at the Apex Community Church, 5200 Far Hills Avenue, Kettering, Ohio 45429. Funeral Service will immediately follow the visitation at 1:00 pm at the church with Karen's brother Bob Thomson officiating the service. A private burial will take place later.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributing in Karen's name to her favorite charity, Wild Again Animal Rescue Center, 861 West Spring Valley Paintersville Road, Spring Valley, OH 45370. Additionally, you can make donations by going directly to their website at www.wildagainrescue.com.
