Deanna K. (Medlin) Armstrong, 69, of Kansas City, Missouri, died on June 13, 2017 at the Select Specialty Hospital. She was born on April 29, 1948, in Kansas City, Kansas. She was preceded in death by parents, R. Donald and Fern Medlin, and her brother, Ronald Ellis Medlin. She is survived by her sister, brother-in-law, two nephews. Her career began as an educator in the Park Hill School District where she was recognized as the Missouir Journalism Teacher of the Year. She moved on to the United Methodist Board of Pensions, National Chief Program Officer for Camp Fire USA, Exec. Director of Head Start of Shawnee Mission, and finally the Exec. Director of Platte Senior Services, Inc. She was a member and past president of Park University Alumni council, past member of Park University Board of Trustees, recipient of the Park University Tipton and Marlowe Sherwood Memorial Service Awards, and a member and past president of Bell Road Barn Players. Cremation. Celebration of Life: 12:00 p.m. June 17, 2017 at Park University Graham Tyler Memorial Chapel, 8700 NW River Park Drive, Parkville, Missouri.
