The Man. The Myth. The Legend. Richard Wayne Ingram went to meet his Lord on April 17th, 2020, at the age of 76, after bravely fighting cancer.
His wife, Mary, adored him. His children admired his strength, his faith in God, and his integrity. His wisdom will be passed down through his children, their children, and their children’s children (Deuteronomy 7:9). His legend will live on through the years as we all share our own versions of his time here on earth with us.
Richard loved playing his bass guitar for his church family, for which he cared deeply. He was an avid hunter and fisherman.
One of his greatest joys was sharing these sports with his kids and grandkids.
Richard was always up for a game of 42, and most often, he and his partner came out on top. Another favorite pass-time of his was playing Pollyanna. He and Mary played almost every night.
Old westerns and Fox News could always be heard blaring from the living room tv.
Mary and Richard were married in 1974 and were married for 46 wonderful and blessed years.
Richard began his incredible life journey on September 10th, 1943.
He grew up in the Fort Worth area with three sisters, Sandra, Wanda and Beth, and one brother,Tommy.
He was a brick mason by trade and served in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice until his retirement.
Richard was preceded in death by his son Tommy Ingram.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Ingram; daughter Tina Howe and husband Phil; daughter Machelle Ingram; son Terry Baker and wife Kristi; daughter Melanie Schott and husband David; son Charles Ingramand John; daughter Sandy Porterfield and husband Dennis; grandchildren Philip Howe, Brittany McLaughlin, Matt Lilley, Jake Downey, Jessica Ingram, Charlie Schott, Zachary Smith, Madison Smith, Brant Smith, Meg Smith, Kaycee Stanley, Christian Kotara and KrissyPorterfield; and 12 great grandchildren.
