Marilyn E “Lynn” Fox, 97, of Edgewood, RI, passed away peacefully Sunday April 12, 2020. She was surrounded by her family and her last hours were spent in her favorite place, the sunroom with a beautiful view of Narragansett Bay. She was the wife of the late H. Raymond Fox Jr. . They were married for fifty-four years.

Lynn was born in Providence, RI on December 29, 1922 to the late Claude and Mary Eaton (Maher).

She grew up in Edgewood and was a lifelong member of St. Paul’s parish. Lynn graduated from St. Paul’s School and Cranston High School, attended the University of Rhode Island, and graduated from the Katherine Gibbs School.

Mom lived a very full life. As a young woman, she worked in several local businesses as an administrative assistant/secretary. For twenty years she was a homemaker and mother to fourteen children. After the birth of her youngest child, Mom returned to work for thirty years as an administrative assistant/secretary to the Dean at Brown University. Mom enjoyed babies, family gatherings, reading, gardening, lobster rolls, the beach, all the Boston sports teams, chocolate in all forms, especially brownies, and tunes by Lou Rawls, Boz Scaggs, Benny Goodman and the Bee Gees. Most of all, she looked forward to spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. We will all miss her.

Lynn was the last family member of her generation. She leaves her children: Janet T. Mason (Andrew) of Honolulu, HI, Thomas J. Fox, West Warwick, Stephen J Fox (Karen), Narragansett, Barbara E. Turbitt, Warwick, Elizabeth C. Godcher (Raymond), Meriden, CT, H. Raymond Fox, III (Debra), Creve Coeur, MO, Donald E. Fox (Jayne), South Kingstown, Nancy C. Fox, Warwick, Andrew M. Fox, Pearl City, HI, Martha Lawson (Frederick), Warwick, Peter M. Fox, Coventry, Louise Boisse (Brian), Warwick, and Gavin P. Fox (Cumberland). Lynn also leaves twenty-four grandchildren and nineteen great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her son Austin V. Fox, III, son-in-law William Turbitt, and her siblings Ada and G. Kenneth Eaton.

Burial was private. A memorial service will be scheduled at a later date.
