Kenneth “Ken” Mack Carpenter, age 83 of Grand Prairie, passed away peacefully on March 26, 2020 with his family at his side. He was born on October 12, 1936 in Gorman, Texas, the son of JD Carpenter Jr. and Geraldine Johnston Carpenter.

Ken married Ella Anderson-Carpenter and they celebrated 25 years of marriage together before his passing. Ken was born and raised in El Paso.

He proudly served in the US Navy and then worked as a paramedic and fire fighter. He also worked to help set up for a circus, the Visiting Nurses, Manheim Auto Auctions, and AVIS car rentals. In his spare time, Ken enjoyed pitching horseshoes; jig saw puzzles, dominoes, board games, and traveling with his wife. His greatest time was the time spent with his family and friends, all of whom will miss him dearly.

Ken is survived by his wife Ella Anderson-Carpenter; children Tony Anderson and wife Lisa, Cheryl Carpenter, and Darryl Carpenter; grandson Colby Anderson; and sister Gywn MaGee. Ken was preceded in death by his parents and a son Johnie Anderson.

Private graveside services will be on Tuesday, March 31, 2020 at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery.

A memorial service to celebrate Ken’s life will be held at Moore Bowen Road Funeral Home at a later date.
