Ralph was a General Contractor in Ft. Myers for over 40 years. He built many residences and businesses throughout the area. He was known as a very honest person and a good family man. He was respected by everyone who knew him. Ralph walked closely with God and was a devoted member of Riverside Baptist Church, then Cypress Lake Baptist Church and later the First Baptist Church of Fort Ogden. He served as deacon in each church and earned the title of Deacon Emeritus at the latter.
Ralph loved family gatherings and would wear his signature grin at all of them especially when playing with his great grandchildren. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Ralph was dearly loved and will be deeply missed by all.
After he retired, Ralph and Sara moved back to Fort Ogden to work and live on their orange grove that was on property originally homesteaded by his family. The deed to the property was signed by President of the United States, Chester Arthur. Later in life, Sara developed special needs and Ralph served as her primary care giver until her passing in 2015 when Ralph was 91 years old.
Ralph was preceded in death by Sara and their son, Mark. He is survived by son Paul, daughter Sandee (Tim), grandchildren Chris (Katie), Steven (Beth), Andrew (Emily), and Julie (Jeremiah), 3 great grandchildren Jordan, Emi, and Zoe, and many nieces and nephews.
Ralph continued to live in Ft. Ogden until 2018 when he came back to Ft. Myers to live with Sandee and Tim. In December of 2019 Ralph went to HealthPark Hospice Care Center. The family wishes to thank all of Ralph’s wonderful caregivers in Ft. Ogden and Ft. Myers. We are grateful to all of you who gave him loving care.
