Obituary
Ronald Ted Lawson, 73, of Vernon, passed away at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 16, 2020 at Columbus Regional Hospital in Columbus.

Born February 19, 1947, in Anderson, he was the son of the late George Lawson and Addie (Goodpastor) Richards. He married Linda (Key) Lawson on August 21, 1965 in Anderson; she survives.

Ronald worked for Mayflower, Triad Steel, and as a truck driver for Cummins Engine Company in Columbus. He was a member of the Vernon Baptist Church and enjoyed fishing, horse racing, going to Florida, telling stories, and talking to people. He especially loved his family and enjoyed cooking for them.

Surviving with his wife is his son, Don (Tamara) Lawson of North Vernon; daughter, Lisa Royse of North Vernon; brothers, Oddie Richards of Carmel and Wally Richards and Ralph Richards, both of Anderson; sisters, Mildred Caster, Julie Richards, and Dottie LeAnn Jarvis, all of Anderson; and grandchildren, Dustin Lawson and Heather Royse, both of North Vernon.

He was preceded in death by his parents; stepfather, Odis Richards; brothers, Danny Richards and Don Richards; sisters, Dottie Reagan, Susie Richards, and Bonnie Reagan; and son-in-law, Scott Royse.

Due to the circumstances surrounding us regarding COVID-19, a private family burial will be held in the Vernon Cemetery with Rev. Don Morris officiating. A celebration of life for Ronald will be held at a later date. Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Services in North Vernon were entrusted to the care of these arrangements. We thank everyone for their continued support and cooperation as we work together to help keep our community safe.

Memorials may be made in honor of Ronald through the funeral home to the Vernon Baptist Church.
