P. Jane (Robbins) McHenry, age 78, of Montgomery, Ala. and formerly of Bloomsburg, died unexpectedly at her home on Wednesday morning, April 15, 2020.

Born in Bloomsburg on May 31, 1941, she was a daughter of the late Jesse A. and Hazel C. (Leacock) Robbins. She was a 1959 graduate of Bloomsburg High School.

Jane resided at Town Hill, Luzerne County prior to moving to Alabama in 1972.

She was employed as an aide at Country Cottage Assisted Living in Montgomery from 1973 until retiring in 2003. Earlier she was employed by Milco Industries, Inc., Bloomsburg from 1959 to 1972.

A member of the Heritage Baptist Church in Montgomery and she had previously been a member of the Stillwater Christian Church. She enjoyed reading and being with her grandchildren.

Jane was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Fred H. “Sonny” McHenry, Jr. on April 3, 2012; by a son-in-law, Edward S. Maggard on November 5, 1994; by four brothers: Jesse A. Robbins, Jr., Donald E. Robbins, George H. Robbins, Ronnie L. Robbins; and seven sisters: Catherine M. McGaw, Irene Ivey, Virginia Fisher, Betty Reed, Mary Simpson, Lavina Ivey and Margaret Karlheim.

Surviving are two daughters: Karen K., wife of William Whaley and Tami J. McHenry and her companion Ricky Nixon, of Montgomery; two step-daughters: Jill A. McHenry, wife of Dean W. Kriner, Bloomsburg and Tracey L. Maggard, Montgomery, five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and a brother Elmer C. “Moe” Robbins, and his wife Cheryl of Bloomsburg.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 2 p. m. from the Dean W. Kriner, Inc., Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 325 Market St., Bloomsburg, with Rev. Dr., Jennifer Parks-Snyder, pastor of the Lightstreet United Methodist Church officiating. Friends may call from 1-2 p. m. at the funeral home. Due to Coronavirius concerns, visitors will be limited to 10 at one time. Interment will follow in Scott Cemetery, Waterton.
