Christina Delgado
Christina Marie Delgado was born in Yuma, Ariz., on Dec. 25,1977. She passed away at home on Sept. 17, 2006, with her family by her side. Christina attended Barstow High School and graduated in 1997. At the age of 13, Christina was diagnosed with cancer and would struggle for the next 17 years. She loved spending time with her family and friends. She enjoyed crossword puzzles and spent many hours playing on her Gameboy. She gave up her battle with cancer to be with her grandmother, the late Josie Ward. Christina will always be young. She will always be beautiful. She will be tremendously missed. Christina is survived by her parents, Pete and Sandra Delgado; sister, Claudia Delgado; niece, Desiree Lucero; grandmother, Ida Contreas of Puerto Rico; fiancee, Mark Carbajal of San Antonio, Texas; uncles and aunts, Frank and Gloria Benitez, Randall and Barbara Pino, Michael and Naffari Williamson, and Linda Trujillo; and many cousins. Christina is in heaven now, laughing, running and enjoying her new life, walking hand in hand with her grandma Josie as they walk towards Jesus on the streets of gold. There will be a Memorial Mass on Wednesday, Se pt. 27, 2006, at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 505 E. Mountain View with burial to follow at Mountain View Memorial Park, 37067 Irwin Road. Arrangements by Mead Mortuary.
