Throughout her life Carol loved animals and nature, including her childhood black horse “Danzy”. She enjoyed gardening and watching beauty in nature, whether birds, flowers or squirrels.
She met her husband Don and they moved together to Houston, Texas. There they started a family, raising three girls who had four grandsons between them, giving Don and Carol half a baseball team to root for. She loved her children and grandchildren dearly and was active throughout their lives and always supportive of their adventures. “Nonnie” or “mamaw”, as she was known to her grandsons, loved to cook for her family and would whip up chicken and dumplings on a moment’s notice.
She was preceded in death by her mother Vada Post of Fort Smith, AR and father Lenn Post of Florida; siblings John Post, Junior Post, Martha Metz and Frank Post; great grandson Will Malek.
Carol is survived by her husband of 67 years Don Lowry of Houston, TX; daughters Donna Lowry of Houston, TX, Gail Drager and husband Barry of Houston, TX, Sharon Brown and husband Larry of Friendswood, TX; grandchildren Darin Malek and wife Alli of Montgomery, TX, Jason Brown and wife Toyah of Austin, TX, Lonnie Malek and wife Anna of Burleson, TX, Jake Brown and wife Krissy of Friendswood, TX; great grandchildren Kate, Luke, Annie, Landon and Logan; siblings Ann Roberts, George Post, Bobby Don Post and Rowena Robison.
