Charlotte Ruth Neal, 59, of Westminster and Berrien Springs, Mich., died Thursday, Aug. 1, 2002, at Carroll County General Hospital. She was the wife of Gary Norman Neal.


Born July 18, 1943, in Tacoma Park, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Joshua and Phebe Elizabeth Ballinger Haviland.


She received her bachelor's degree from Walla Walla University in College Park, Washington State, and a master's degree from Andrews University in Michigan. She worked as a registered nurse for Shady Grove Adventist Hospital and was also a HomeCare nurse, specializing in I.V. care in Maryland, Virginia, and Washington, D.C. She relocated to Westminster in 2001 to care for her sister and brother-in-law.


Surviving also are two daughters, Joynene S. Neal of Berrien Springs, Mich., and Dawnita G. Posso of Corpus Christi, Texas.


She was preceded in death by a brother, Wilmer T. Haviland, and a sister, Alice Love.


A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Westminster Seventh Day Adventist church, 320 Crest Lane, Westminster, with Elder Frank Hardy officiating. Burial will be in Woodside Cemetery, near Ashton.


Myers Funeral Home, 91 Willis St., Westminster, is in charge of the arrangements.
