Arnold Gibson, Jr., 81, of Hermitage, passed away on Thursday April 16, 2020 at The Residence at Alive Hospice in Nashville. Mr. Gibson was born November 15, 1938 in Pikeville, KY.

A private family graveside service will be conducted Wednesday April 22nd in the Springfield Memorial Gardens with Reverend Michael Smith officiating. The family plans for a Memorial Celebration of Life service at a future date.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and he worked many years as a heavy equipment operator for Wright’s Industry. Mr. Gibson was of the Baptist faith. He was the type person that always had to be doing something and when ever you asked him what he was doing, he always said “just piddlin”.

Mr. Gibson was preceded in death by his father: Arnold Gibson, Sr., by his mother: Babe England Clark, and by his wife: Gladys Elizabeth Ledbetter Gibson, who died in January of this year.

Mr. Gibson is survived by his son: William Gibson of Bristol, VA, by his daughter: Lisa Gibson of Johnson City, by his step-son: Kenneth Melvin “Kenny” Head and his wife Willie Head of Cedar Hill, by his step-daughters: Brenda Kay Head of Madison and Rita Fay Williams of Nashville, by his brothers: Richard Gibson of Pikeville, KY and Dean Ray Gibson of Hellier, KY, by his sisters: Alice Fay Courtney of Pikeville, KY, Rita Ann Tackett, Amanda DeRosett, and Arnette Simpson all of Hellier, KY, and by several grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren.
