He was united in marriage to Pearl Lavone Harrison on May 5, 1951. She preceded him in death on May 16, 2017.
Bruce was a member of the Republican City Reformed Presbyterian Church and later the Four Mile Presbyterian Church. He is a current member of the 1st Presbyterian Church Clay Center. He served as a Sunday schoolteacher and elder in the church.
In addition to his wife, Bruce was preceded in death by his parents; infant son, Phillip Warren; brothers, Richard and William Jr.; and sister, Mary Jean Fowles.
