Agnes E. Buchert
January 31, 1921 - April 14, 2020

Agnes E. Buchert, age 99 of Green Bay, passed away on Tuesday morning, April 14, 2020, at home with her family by her side.

Agnes was born on January 31, 1921 in the Town of Belle Plaine, to the late August and Emma (Brandt) Schmidt. She attended the River Bank School in Embarrass through grade school. She went on to help out on the family farm. From there, Agnes was the primary caregiver for her sister’s son, Alvin. After Alvin passed away, Agnes worked as a seamstress. Later, she worked as a sales associate at Lauerman’s Department Store.

On March 25, 1944, Agnes was united in marriage to Hilbert Buchert in the Town of Belle Plaine. She enjoyed fishing, playing the organ, doing puzzles, and playing card games, especially Crazy 8. Agnes absolutely loved sewing, arts and crafts, and making homemade Christmas ornaments.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Barb (Bob) Gerndt of Suring, Anita Lienweber of Scottsdale, Arizona, Beverly (Doug) Burris of Shawano, David (Debbie) Buchert of Mountain, Don (Bonnie) Buchert of Glendale, Arizona, Cliff (Evelyn) Buchert of Green Bay, and Chuck (Tammy) Buchert of Shawano; 22 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren; her siblings, Lois (Robert) Gehrt of Embarrass, and Willard (Maggie) Schmidt of Green Bay; and many nieces and nephews, including a special nephew, Jay Fehrman. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hilbert; her daughter, Karen Kuntz; son-in-law, Peter Lienweber; grandson, Mike Burris; siblings, Mabel Fehrman, Howard Schmidt, Harvey Schmidt, Hazel Krubsack, and Leonard Schmidt; sister-in-law, Betty Schmidt; and special nephews, Lyle and Alvin Fehrman.

Due to the COVID-19 outbreak, the family has made the difficult decision to remember Agnes privately. Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers. Interment will take place in Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Embarrass.
