John E. Carter, age 63, a resident of Pickerington, Ohio, passed away Friday, July 17, 2009 at his residence. He was born in Lima, Ohio, on November 6, 1945. He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Mary Carter; his wife, Linda Smith Carter; a brother, Paul Carter; and a sister, Linda Buchanan.
John is survived by two daughters, Mindy Carter and Julie (Adam) Porr, both of Columbus, Ohio; brother-in-law, John Smith of Jackson; brother-in-law, Gary Buchanan of Lancaster, Ohio; and companion, Debra Hinz of Pickerington.
Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 21, at the Mayhew Funeral Home, Jackson, Ohio, at 6 p.m. with Rev. James Riggs officiating. Friends may call two hours prior to the service on Tuesday. A private graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, contributions to the Linda and John Carter Scholarship Fund with checks payable to the Pickerington Education Foundation, P. O. Box 817, Pickerington, Ohio 43147.
