Sue Evelyn Williams went to her heavenly home on July 27, 2022. She was born January 9, 1924, in Ackerman, Mississippi, to Johnie Floyd Williams, Sr. and Ida Lois Williams. She received her Bachelor's of Education from Blue Mountain College in Mississippi and a Master's in Education from the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa.

Sue had an impact on countless students and families during her forty years of service in the Jackson Public School System. She was an active member of First Baptist Church of Jackson where she enjoyed serving the community and sharing Christian fellowship with others. She especially loved her time in the Hope and Joy Sunday School Class and serving on the Floral Committee charged with outreach to homebound members.

Alpha Delta Kappa ("ADK") held a special place in Sue's heart. As a leader in the organization for women educators, she served as ADK President in both the Regional and National Offices of the Mississippi Chapter. These roles allowed her to travel throughout the United States to interact with other passionate educators. Later in life, Sue enjoyed visiting with friends each month as a member of Heritage Luncheon Club.

Sue is survived by her nieces, Mary Beth Rutledge of Dallas, Texas, and Patty Ann Davis (Steve) of Camden, Arkansas; two great nieces and two great nephews; six great-great nieces and two great-great nephews.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, July 30, 2022, at 11 a.m., in the chapel at First Baptist Church of Jackson with Visitation before at 10 a.m. Burial to follow in Ackerman, Mississippi.

The family wishes to thank the doctors and staff of Ouachita County Medical Center in Camden, Arkansas, for their loving care and kindness.
