Professional Football Player. Selected in the second round of the 2006 National Football League draft, he spent parts of 10 seasons as a member of the Minnesota Vikings, Buffalo Bills and Seattle Seahawks. He played his collegiate football at the University of Arkansas before transferring to Alabama State University. As a member of the NFL Vikings from 2006 to 2010, he passed for nearly 4,000 yards, including 24 touchdown passes. Joining the Seahawks in 2011, he started 14 games at quarterback winning seven games and losing seven. He was traded to the Buffalo Bills in August 2012, serving in a backup capacity at quarterback. Following his release from the Bills in 2013, he rejoined the Seattle Seahawks as a backup quarterback to Russell Wilson. He was the recipient of a Super Bowl ring in 2014, following Seattle's 43 to 8 win over the heavily favored Denver Broncos in Super Bowl XLVIII (48). He was given the honor of leading Seattle's final drive of the game replacing Wilson at quarterback. During his 59 game NFL career, he passed for over 7,000 yards and threw 39 touchdowns. Following his professional career he served as a graduate assistant at Alabama State University and as a quarterback coach with the Tennessee State University Tigers. He was killed in a single car accident near his hometown of Montgomery, Alabama less than two weeks before his 37th birthday.
