William Charles Malone, 65, of Anderson, tested positive for Covid-19 while in rehab at Bethany Pointe. He died form complications on Wednesday, April 15, 2020.
Bill was born Oct. 23, 1954, in Anderson, to Charles and Nadine Malone. He lived his entire life in the Anderson area. He attended Riley Elementary, Central Junior High, Anderson High School, Ball State University and later got his master's in education at Anderson University.
It was at Anderson High School that he fell in love with the theater. Bill acted and directed in hundreds of plays at Geetings Summer Theater, Anderson Mainstage, Ball State, The Alley Theatre, Madison Park, and The Commons in Alexandria among others.
He had two great careers that he loved...one in health care and one in education. He was a respiratory therapist and cardiology technician at St. John's, Community, and Riley. He then switched careers to education and taught for Anderson Community Schools for 20 years.
He married Carlynn Malone in 1993 at Park Place Church of God. He and his wife currently attend Central Christian Church.
He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Carlynn Malone; two children, Melissa (DJ) Odom and Joshua Malone; two stepdaughters, Jennifer (Jordan) Slattery and Amy (Larry) Oliver; 12 grandchildren, Kaitlyn (Lance Grose) Malone, Evan Spencer, Bentley Slattery, Emerson Slattery, Maxwell Slattery, Samson Slattery, Zachariah Slattery, Cannon Oliver, Callie Oliver and Casen Oliver, and Pierce Odom and Avery Odom; one great-grandchild, Ronin Grose; three sisters, Patricia Coppock, Donna ("Shorty" Leonard) Gadberry, and Mary Anne Malone; and his best friend, Jim Hunter.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Nadine Malone; and his sister, Marcia Spradlin.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
