Danny J. Robinson, 55, of Oelwein, Iowa died Wednesday morning, April 15, 2020 at UnityPoint Health-St. Luke’s Hospital in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
Due to state and federal guidance on gatherings due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the family will have a private family graveside service at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens in rural Oelwein. Danny Joe Robinson was born September 27, 1964 at Manchester, Iowa the son of Loyd and Yvonne (Baskerville) Robinson. He attended school through the 11th grade at Oelwein High School. Danny then received his high school diploma from Job Core in Dennison, Iowa. He moved to Tampa, Florida and worked Holloway Pools for 30 years, creating custom swimming pools. Danny was very proud that in his 30 years at Holloway Pools, he never had one sick day. In 2017, he relocated back to Iowa, where he was employed at East Penn in Oelwein. He loved his job, the people he worked with and was very proud that he was there when the plant started. Danny enjoyed growing plants, feeding birds, sports, an avid Tampa Bay Buccaneers Fan “GO BUCS!), ACDC, joking, and a having cold one. He will be remembered for being very soft spoken, kind, and generous to others.
Danny is survived by his 5 siblings: Larry Robinson of Oelwein, Greg Robinson of Cedar Rapids, Becky Robinson of Hiawatha, Shirley Hamlett of Las Vegas, Nevada and Nancy (Charles) Lahr of Manchester; stepsister: Vionne Beck of Marion; aunts: Patsy Baskerville of Independence, Ruby (Ron)Moser of Arlington and Mildred (Everett) Johnson of Manchester; several cousins; and several nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father: Loyd Robinson; mother: Yvonne Peasley; stepfather: Ernest Peasley; brother: Randy Robinson; and 2 great nephews: Derick Robinson and George Howorth.
