Bobby Ann Holleman Benson was born on October 16, 1942, in Raton, New Mexico, to her parents Bessie Lee Holleman and William Howard Holleman.
She attended public and Catholic schools in Denver, Colorado, and graduated from Cathedral High School in 1961. Bobby was baptized at Sacred Heart Catholic Church on July 28, 1956.
Bobby received a Bachelor of Arts in Economics & Business Administration in 1974 from Fordham University, New York, and a Masters of Business Administration in 1978 from Long Island University, Brooklyn, New York.
Bobby’s working experience was in the finance and banking industry. She worked in the Finance and Accounting Office for Pan American World Airways, New York, and spent four years in Frankfurt, West Germany as a Financial Planner. Upon her return to Denver she was an Investment Broker for RAF Financial Corporation. On June 21, 1991, she married Elmer Benson, Jr., in Fairfield, California. While in California, she worked as a Financial Consultant for Merrill Lynch in Oakland, California.
Bobby was preceded in death by her Mother Bessie Lee Johnson, her Father William Howard Holleman, her Step-father Junious Johnson and her Sister Ann Fluellen. She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband, Elmer Benson, Jr., Sister-in-law Joy Burnett, God-daughters DeEtte Montgomery and JoEtte Montgomery, and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and great-nephews, many life-long friends and her dear Sorors.
