He was a maintenance mechanic at USEC of Paducah and was retired from the U.S. Department of Justice- Federal Bureau of Prisons in Marion, Illinois, where he worked for over 20 years. He was a Vietnam veteran, Petty Officer 3rd Class Boiler Tech with the US Navy. He was of the Baptist faith.
Stephen Haynes enjoyed the outdoors especially hunting, fi shing and most of all spending time with his family. He is remembered as a beloved father and grandfather, caregiver, provider and protector of his family. He was a man of honor and integrity who will be greatly missed, but his loved ones look forward to being with him again in Heaven one day.
He is survived by two daughters, April Haynes Speer of Bardwell and Stephanie Haynes of Carrier Mills, Ill.; one son, Benjamin Haynes and wife Kristin of West Paducah. He leaves behind a sister, Sheila Haynes Gandy of Paducah; a brother, Richard Haynes of Wickliffe, and four grandchildren.
Mr. Haynes was preceded in death by his parents, Loman Taylor Haynes Jr. and Patsy Ruth Blankenship Haynes.
Funeral services with military honors for Stephen Wayne Haynes will be Thursday, April 10, 2014, at 11 a.m. at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with Pastor Charles Moore officiating.
