Frank K. Sheary
Frank K. Sheary, 88, of 177 North Marshall Street, Shamokin, widely known retired barber, died this morning at Lebanon.
Mr. Sheary had resided in Lebanon with a son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Johnson. He had been in failing health since last December.
A native of Mifflinburg, Union County, Mr. Sheary was born November 29, 1878. He was a son of the late Abraham and Mary Sheary.
Engaged in the barbering trade most of his life, Mr. Sheary owned and operated a shop on Independence Street for many years. He was honored as the oldest barber in Shamokin a number of years ago. Mr. Sheary was known as the dean of the Shamokin barbers. He retired in 1959.
The late Mr. Sheary was the husband of Cora G. Sheary, who preceded him in death on October 18, 1959. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Shamokin Lodge of Masons and the Master Barbers of America.
Survivors include a son, Frank, Asheville, N. C.; two daughters, Mrs. Karl (Helen) Lucye, Washington, D. C., and Mrs. Stanley (Dorothy) Johnson, Lebanon, and two grandchildren.
