Mr. Leon Burr Wright, 80, passed Aug 22, 2018, following a battle with cancer.

He will be lovingly missed by his wife of 27 years, Dee Wright, his son Steve (Rhonda), his daughter, Marlena Blackwell, his step sons, Scott Houser (Vikki), Jerry Houser (Carol), John Houser, and his step daughter, Lisa Thoman (Loren), 15 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren, his sisters Betty Taylor and Viv Wright, his brother Bennie and many close friends. Leon was predeceased by his brother Elvin and his first wife, Delores Wright.

Leon was a long time resident of Smithville Missouri, graduating from Smithville High School in 1957.
He worked for TWA for 38+ years. He retired from TWA in 1995 as a TWA Maintenance Supervisor.
He served his country in the Navy Reserve, he served his community as a Boy Scout troop leader, and he served his church as a deacon at Antioch Bible Baptist church. He served his family and friends as an amazing spiritual leader, setting an example for them to follow as He followed Jesus.

A Celebration of Life service in memory of Leon will be held on Friday, August 31, 2018 at 7 pm at Antioch Bible Baptist Church 800 NE 72nd St., Gladstone Mo. Those who so desire may make a donation in memory of Leon to the Antioch Bible Baptist Church building program in lieu of flowers.
