Mr. Speyrer, a lifelong resident of Leonville, died at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in St. Luke Hospital of Arnaudville.
Survivors include three sons, Frank Speyrer of Opelousas, Walter Speyrer and Gabe 0. Speyrer, both of Leonville; a daughter, Mrs. Carroll F. (Leticia) Olivier of Arnaudville; 11 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Melanie Quebedeaux Speyrer; his parents, Jean Batiste Speyrer and the former Letitia Meche, both natives of St. Landry Parish; five brothers and two sisters.
Pallbearers will be Walter Speyrer Jr., Gerald Speyrer, Billy Dunnavant, Patrick H. Olivier, Lear E. Olivier and Michael Olivier.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday and from 8 a.m. until the services Monday.
The Melancon Funeral Home of Arnaudville is in charge of funeral arrangements.
