John William Dunn was blind and lived with his parents in Drakesville, Davis, Iowa. His father, Andrew Dunn died in June of 1880 and John remained living with his mother until her death in February of 1895 when he went to live with his nephew John Andrew Dunn and his family in Fox River, Davis County, Iowa. When John Andrew moved to Amarillo, Texas, John William settled with his older brother, James Lewis Dunn in Fulton County, Arkansas. Oral family history places John in Fryatt, Fulton County, Arkansas where he died. It is said that he is buried in Fryatt Cemetery although no marker can be found.
