Alfred J. Pierro, age 96, of Swampscott, died on Monday February 5, 2018 after a lengthy illness. He was the husband of the late Margaret (Broderick) Pierro, with whom he shared 52 years of marriage. Born in Swampscott, he was the son of the late Gerardo and Concetta (Caputo) Pierro. He had worked as a tool and dye maker for GE at both the West Lynn and Riverworks Plants for over 43 years until his retirement in 1983. He had also served as a Special Police Officer for the Town of Swampscott for 35 years and as a Police Officer at Littles Point, Swampscott for 40 years. He was a Communicant and Usher at St. John the Evangelist Church and he also enjoyed golfing, gardening, and taking day trips. He was the brother of the late Victor, William, and Maria Pierro.
