Mary Lou Thacker, 88, of Fortville, passed away Monday, April 13, 2020 surrounded by her family. She was born April 30, 1931 in Hamilton County, IN to John D. and Mary Mabel (Greer) Brandom. Mary Lou was a 1949 graduate of the old Fortville High School. She was an accomplished pianist and organist. Mary Lou was a long-time secretary of the Fortville Christian Church and had worked at the Fortville Tribune, the Pendleton Times, and Community Shopper. Besides being the secretary at the Fortville Christian Church, she was very active in all aspects of the church. Mary Lou was a sports enthusiast, especially basketball and enjoyed fishing.

Mary Lou is survived by sons: Mark (Carol) Thacker of Fortville; Tony (Shirley) Thacker of Mt. Comfort; grandchildren: Tara (Marc) Magnussen, Amy (Robert) Brown, David (Katie) Thacker and Cameron (Ally Anderson) Thacker; 9 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Glenn E. Thacker, her parent and siblings John G. Brandom, Tom G. Brandom, Rex Brandom and Betty Colino.

Due to the Governor’s Executive Order private family services will be held at Gravel Lawn Cemetery, Fortville. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Fortville Christian Church Building Fund 9450 N 200 West Fortville, IN 46040.
